Intersection

()

Keyboard: INTERSECTION, INT (within a command)

Alias: 3DINTERSECTION

Toggles the Intersection snap on or off. When set to ON, you can snap a new entity that you are drawing to the three-dimensional intersection of a combination of entities. You can snap to the combination of an arc, circle, line, infinite line, polyline, ray, ellipse, elliptical arc, spline, hatch pattern, polygon mesh, or polyface mesh. You can also snap to an intersection point within a single entity, including a polyline or spline. If the target covers only one entity, the program prompts you to select a second entity and then snaps to the point at which the two entities intersect in three-dimensional space.

The Extended Intersection snap displays the logical location where two entities (lines, arcs, or elliptical segments) would intersect if they were of infinite length. Dashed extension lines are drawn to help view the extended intersection.

  1. Draw a new entity by snapping to the three-dimensional intersection of another entity.
