Opening the source file of a data link

If you need to open a source file to edit its content and then update its linked data in your drawing, you can easily open the source file by using the Data Link Manager command.

To open the source file of a data link

   1   Do one of the following to choose Data Link Manager ():

    On the ribbon, choose Insert > Data Link Manager (in Data); Annotate > Data Link Manager (in Tables).

    On the menu, choose Insert > Data Link > Data Link Manager.

    Type datalink and then press Enter.

   2   Select a data link.

   3   In Details, confirm that the referenced file is the one you want to open.

    4    Click Open Source File.
